Debbie Arambula on redefing Romanticism in the 21st Century
Art gives us power and just like a song it can pull you out of dark place, push you into the light and enlighten your mind with a new reality.
ART has the power to heal, inspire and move one to a point of happiness, tears of joy and beyond. For 23 years 1000’s of my art collectors continue to testify this unsolicited truth.
ART connects the viewer to the heart and soul of life on a wave length that can really can be quite spiritual.
In art, we see & feel reflections of the spirit of life, something one can’t quite put into words. The colors speak to us, the rhythm of the brush strokes makes our hearts beat faster. The subject moves us in a way we can’t always explain.
In my journey of rediscovery, there is one common thread that remains constant in my art. I paint paintings of LOVE. Expressing LOVE in every shape, size & color is my passion. Whether landscape, heart or flower I am ALL ABOUT LOVE.
For 23 years have created 1000’s of paintings to achieve this goal.
I am here in this life to waive a flag for LOVE: Family Love, Friendship, Sisterhood, Romantic Love, Brotherly Love, Family, Love, Compassionate Love, Motherly Love, Fatherly Love and most of all Unconditional Love.
I want you to have more of it in your daily life!
And no matter what religion, culture, color, creed or political beliefs, our responsibility lies in honesty, in good intentions & actions to help one another be compassionate in our actions. Together we create the outcome!
We hold the power in our hearts, and create sanity in life and in the world around us by making good choices in life, that have a greater positive impact on our environments, people in our lives and our communities. With common sense, morals and clean honest hearts we set good examples to create a better world for all.
Despite the chaos that emulates from bad News, from Computer age to global is warming, from political unrest to economic strife, I create paintings of Love to inspire you and give you power. It is why I am here and it my destiny.
In celebration of LOVE, I am offering Labyrinth of Love at this time. I only have a few left, this piece is not on my website! History behind The Romanticism Movement: a movement in the arts and literature that originated in the late 18th century, (1770- 1850) A literary movement that swept through virtually every country of Europe, the United States, and Latin America that lasted from about 1750 to 1870. However, the Romantic Movement did not reach France until the1820’s.
At the end of the 18th century and well into the 19th, Romanticism quickly spread throughout Europe and the United States to challenge the rational ideal held so tightly during the Age of Enlightenment. The artists emphasized that sense and emotions – not simply reason and order – were equally important means of understanding and experiencing the world. Romanticism celebrated the individual imagination and intuition in the enduring search for individual rights and liberty.
Romanticism a philosophical movement during the Age of Enlightenment, which emphasizes emotional self-awareness as a necessary pre-condition to improving society and bettering the human condition.
The basic idea in Romanticism is that reason cannot explain everything. In part, romanticism was a reaction against the artistic styles of classical antiquity and stressed strong emotion, imagination, freedom from classical art forms, and rebellion against social conventions. For romantics, color was the life and soul of a picture and was in itself capable of building up form without recourse to contour-lines.
Romanticism -The Triumph of imagination and individuality. American Revolution (1775- 1783); French Revolution (1789- 1799) Napoleon crowned emperor of France (1803)
