Welcome to our “Believe” Blog Essay Contest! Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Welcome to my “Believe” Blog Essay Contest!

My name is Debbie Marie Arambula, otherwise known as “The Heart Artist”. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in honor of Life and the courageous will to Survive, my signature style, ‘Believe’ Heart Art painting was dedicated to Breast Cancer Survivors in March 2011 at the “Susan G. Komen Los Angeles County Race for the Cure“. To help inspire women of every culture and every age, I have created a contest where I am donating 3 pieces of art to three lucky winners. Instruction are below.

I have found that sometimes, life’s adventures all come down to just one word.

Throughout my life, I have found certain & words simple phrases that help me to push the negativity out of my mind and put the passion back in my heart. Life is full of adventures that lead us in directions we never thought we would journey.

Over the years I have found one word that always pulls me toward my heart,

more than Hope . . . more than Faith . . . It all starts with Believe.

In each step of this journey called life, we are presented with adventures that test our abilities to withstand pain and more importantly discover pleasure.  I personally believe that the power of our thoughts directs the outcome of how we view & experience the journey. And for me, the power of two gives strength in any journey.

The dictionary defines ‘Believe’ as: Verb. To have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.

For me, ‘Believe’ is pure knowingness, with no other thought in it! To ‘Believe’ is to know, without a doubt or reservation. When practiced, I find belief holds us up in dark times, sheds a light on the mountain to climb, uplifts and guides us through an unknown journey ahead, and like a flashlight, it inspiring strength, melts the fear and assists in creating a deeper connection to our hearts and souls.

To ‘Believe’ is pure strength, conviction, integrity, direction, knowingness. Even in the darkest hour, you control the power of your thoughts and the direction of your energies!

When I painted the original, I thought about you, your hopes and dreams. My intention was to reach my arms around your heart, inspiring you to live your dreams, reach for your goals and to disagree with the negativity! ‘Believe’ is my rendition of the pure essence of unconditional love; the powerful energy and support that can be generated by the love connection between two people who assist one another in life.

My wish is that ‘Believe’ not only inspires you, but gives you the energy to inspire others. It’s about sisterhood, friendship, overcoming, winning, perseverance, strength and gaining positive certainty in the process. It’s about giving you a gift that feeds your soul.

The Heart Artist’s Interpretation:

I love purple & pink mixed together. There is a particular way I mix them that is not only uplifting to me, but very spiritual. Pink is womanly and purple is creative; the perfect combination for womanly magic.

The pink & white striped background represents the past. The past is the past, and you & I are here now, in this moment! Find the strength and beauty in the simplicity of the word, ‘Believe’.

The yellowish-orange represents our soul energy and openness to love. We all have so much love inside of us. Let it shine like the sun and the moon. Be the bright light of love that you are and never hold back!

Reaching out to your heart, I ‘Believe’ in you!

The deep pink-purple heart ribbon (me), around the big hot pink heart (you), represents the love that surrounds you, supports you, like giant arms around your soul, to hold you deep in your heart. I am here. You are not alone. Do you see me? ‘Believe’!

I hope to inspire you and shower you with love!

Love,

Debbie Marie Arambula

  1. Believe to me means POWER! The power to fight the power to survive. I did all these things ten years ago when I was diagnosed at the age of 27. I believe in a cure I believe we can all be survivors. To believe means to be powerful.

  2. Love YOUR essay Deb! I’m so sorry I’m off the radar right now. I BELIEVE our lives will turn around, and I’ll have time to call you soon 🙂 Just wanted to let you know that I’ve worn a necklace with a “Believe” pendant everyday since Nick was diagnosed. Always on the same wavelength, aren’t we? Love you!

  4. BELIEVE is being able to look at all the good in the world and in yourself, even though life is knocking you down. BELIEVE is the choice(s) we make to take positive strides in life after being kicked in the teeth, maybe more the once. BELIEVE is rising above everything you thought you never could, and not only kicking ass and taking names, but bringing (lifting) your friends with you, and helping them BELIEVE too.

  5. To me, BELIEVE means to put your trust in the really huge Creator of the universe! I’ve seen Him heal and restore so many people, including myself. He loves us sooo much! My amazing mom is a two-time breast cancer survivor and is now well at the young age of 82. I thank our wonderful God and hard-working medical staff that I’ve been able to enjoy her for many years. Again, for me, to BELIEVE is to put your hope in the One who is full of all power and can do anything!!!

  6. Believe…..knowing that you will be ok, blessed, cured….and live on. The feeling you get deep inside when all signs are pointing the other way..to be negative…that there is no hope etc… But because you Believe, you know the truth…you know good things are yet to come…and that this to shall pass. I do Believe we will find a cure for Breast Cancer. I do believe it will happen in my lifetime. My Belief is very strong and full of hope! As a survivor of 3 1/2 years at the age of 48. I can thing no other way..then to BELIEVE!
